Alexander and the Hellenistic World
In eleven years Alexander of Macedon conquered the Persian Empire and reached India. He died at 32 before he could organise it.
His generals split it into kingdoms ruled by Greek dynasties: the Ptolemies in Egypt, the Seleucids in Asia, the Antigonids in Macedon.
Greek became the common language from Egypt to Afghanistan. Alexandria's scholars measured the Earth. The age ended when Cleopatra died and Egypt became Roman.
